From time to time, I have incorporated circuit training into my workout routines (you are switching up your routine every 3-4 weeks right?). Circuit training has the amazing ability to burn fat in massive quantities. During our initial weight loss, my wife and I never burned more fat than when we were performing circuit training.
The key to circuit training is the coupling aerobic (cardio) and anaerobic (strength) training in the same workout routine. These strength training exercises are done without any rest and performed along with bouts of cardio in between to keep your heart rate going and core body temp up. This puts your metabolism into overdrive. However, I must warn you, it’s not for the faint of heart. Circuit training is tough, but produces excellent results. So if you’re not too wimpy, you should go for it.
This morning, I came across a GREAT article that gives you a complete circuit training routine (complete with demo videos). However, looking through this routine, it assumes a certain level of fitness and ability to comfortable work with free-weights and barbells. So if you think you’re up for it, give it a shot. Click here for that article.
If instead, you want a simpler circuit training routine, let me know and I can recommend something that just about anyone can perform without any problems.
As always, you must eat right in order to get maximum results!! Both exercise AND proper diet are needed.
Consult your physician before starting any exercise or diet regimen.
