Race for the Cure

If you haven’t seen my FaceBook page, you may not have seen the results from last weekend’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5k held in Charlotte, NC.  For the past couple of years, I’ve done this awesome race in support for awesome cause.  It consisted of a competitive 5k race of around 1500 competitors and a non-competitive 5k run/walk that had over 14,000 people!  What’s even more amazing was the number of cancer survivors that were also participating in the event.

As in year’s past, I have raced on team Kelley’s Spirit in honor of my friend’s sister, Kelley who lost her battle with cancer.  It was an honor to race as part of the team and to do my part in helping to raise money for the cause.

No lengthy race report on this one as I don’t want to take away from the importance of the cause itself.  However, I will share a few pictures.

Final result:  6th place overall, 1st place in division.
